The Rum Story Re-Imagined
Austwick Media LTD were delighted to be asked by The Rum Story in Whitehaven to capture their exciting Rum Story Reimagined project across five dedicated photo shoots throughout the week.
This was not just a single event. It was a carefully curated series of moments designed to celebrate heritage, community and creativity and we were proud to document it all.
Day One: On the Beach
The project began on the beach in Whitehaven, setting the scene with powerful coastal imagery that connects the town’s maritime history to The Rum Story’s heritage.
Day Two: The Procession
From the shoreline, a vibrant procession made its way through Whitehaven and up to The Rum Story itself. This was full of atmosphere, character and community spirit, perfect for authentic storytelling photography.
Day Three: The Private Launch
The private launch evening was a fantastic success, bringing together local businesses, supporters and familiar faces. A real highlight of the evening was seeing the historic clock working once again, thanks to the support of local businesses, including Forth Engineering and Core Nuclear. Capturing that moment symbolised more than restoration; it represented collaboration and pride in Whitehaven.
Day Four: The Exhibits
We spent time photographing the reimagined exhibits inside The Rum Story. These images were designed to showcase detail, craftsmanship and visitor experience, providing valuable Commercial Photography content for marketing, press and digital platforms.
Day Five: Artist at Work
The final shoot focused on an artist creating a miniature garden inside a glass jar, a beautiful example of terrarium art. Capturing the intricate detail and creativity of this process added a completely different visual dimension to the week.
