This drone video of Haweswater in the Lake District gave us a rare chance to capture something very special – the lost village of Mardale Green appearing once again.
With water levels at Haweswater extremely low, more of the old village can now be seen. From the ground, it is difficult to understand just how much has been revealed. That is where the drone really comes into its own.
We filmed the whole video using drones, giving us a view you simply can’t get from the ground. From the air, you can see the scale of the old village, including roads, walls and the incredible 17th-century packhorse bridge, still standing strong.
As a video production company based in Carlisle, Cumbria, we love opportunities like this. Being able to use drones to capture a piece of Lake District history before the water rises again made this a very special film for us.
Take a look at the video and see the lost village of Mardale Green from the air.
